We are Kurds

The challenge becomes explaining you with a language that encompasses your love.

We grew from your roots, stems across the land that have become petals of your ancestry.

We have woven ourselves into the sleeves of your suffering to be apart of the struggle we have inherited.

We are children, and you our loving mother.

In all tongues we have become fluent, to the world we speak of your name so that you may find eternal solace.

We bow our heads to the divine, as worshipers of all kinds to beg for your protection.

We are your followers, and you our temple.

Separated by the corridors of the red-eyed devils, we are imprisoned under the shackles that have imprinted oppression onto your reflection.

We are Kurds and you are Kurdistan
